AmSty’s St. James Plant Receives LCA SAFE Award for Third Consecutive YearThe Woodlands, Texas – December 29, 2014 – The Louisiana Chemical Association ("LCA"), Louisiana's leading chemical industry alliance, has recognized the Americas Styrenics ("AmSty") plant for its outstanding safe operations, for the third year in a row. The "Best in Louisiana" Award for Safety and Environmental Excellence is awarded each year to one company in each class, according to its number of employees.

AmSty's St. James facility has been in operation since 1971 producing styrene monomer, used primarily as a feedstock for polystyrene. The facility is one of the largest of its kind in the world, and through the years has received numerous safety and environmental awards and certifications, including recognition as an OSHA VPP Star Site.
