AmSty’s St. James Plant Receives LCA SAFE Award for Third Consecutive Year

The Woodlands, Texas – December 29, 2014 – The Louisiana Chemical Association ("LCA"), Louisiana's leading chemical industry alliance, has recognized the Americas Styrenics ("AmSty") plant for its outstanding safe operations, for the third year in a row. The "Best in Louisiana" Award for Safety and Environmental Excellence is awarded each year to one company in each class, according to its number of employees.

AmSty Leadership Meets with Congressional Officials in D.C.

The Woodlands, Texas – July 23, 2014 – Representatives from Americas Styrenics joined members from nine plastics industry trade associations in Washington, D.C. on July 22-23 for the 2014 Plastics Industry Fly-In. Meetings were held with Members of Congress and Administration officials to discuss how pressing issues will impact the health and viability of the plastics industry.

Assemblymember Al Muratsuchi Tours AmSty Plant in Torrance

The Woodlands, Texas - May 2, 2014 – Assemblymember Al Muratsuchi (D-66) recently visited the Americas Styrenics (“AmSty”) facility in Torrance, California to discuss concerns about energy reliability and cost. The Assembly-member reviewed the documented impact of power outages and discussed plans to improve energy reliability in southern California.

AmSty Facility Partners with School for Earth Day

At the Americas Styrenics plant in Cartagena, Colombia, 22 employees worked with children at a local school, Colegio Tecnico de Pasacaballos, to plant mango trees in honor of Earth Day on April 25, 2012.
